Megaprojects knowingly have the console-mega. The implementation of such tasks spent huge sums (more than $ 1 billion.), resources (millions of person/hours) and time costs. Today we look at seven industrial projects that are currently in the construction phase.
1. Airport Beijing Daxing, $13 billion

The new airport of the Chinese capital will be able to serve 100 million passengers a year. The complex, consisting of 1.6 million cubic meters of concrete, 52 000 tons of steel covers an area of 70 sq km. Therefore, after opening in March 2019 Beijing Daxing will be the largest current airport in the world. Two of the three largest Chinese airlines: China Eastern Airlines and China Southern Airlines will carry out takeoffs and landings at the new airport. 2. Bridge Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau $20 billion

This complex is a series of bridges and undersea tunnels with a length of about 50 km, connecting the three major cities in the Pearl river Delta in China. After commissioning in 2019 the project will be the longest bridge in the world.
The construction will connect the major Chinese cities: Hong Kong, Zhuhai in China’s Guangdong province and Macau. The main part of the bridge consists of 29.6 km dual three-lane road and 6.7 km-long undersea tunnel running between two man-made Islands. For what would be under the bridge can pass huge container ships and oil tankers, three sections of the bridge had artificially raised above the water level.
3. Fusion reactor ITER, $22 billion

International pilot project (in which participates and Russia) for the construction of fusion reactor was proposed in the 1980-ies. However, the construction of a facility near the French city of Marseille began only a few years ago. Due to the large technical and financial difficulties, the launch date of the reactor has been postponed several times. At the moment, to see the potential commercial use of fusion energy to happen before the next decade.
4. Underground, Crossrail, $23 billion

Since 2009, London is building a new system of railway which will be commissioned this year. At the moment Crossrail is the largest project in the history of Europe. The new metro will link the urban areas and the agglomeration of London. The total length of paths will be 118 km, and the capacity of the metro — 24 trains per hour. The first line called “Elizabeth”.
5. California high speed rail, $70 billion

California high speed rail is a high — speed rail system between Los Angeles and San Francisco. The project will be finished in 2030. According Novate.ru trains will supervise between two cities at a speed of 350 km/h in less than two hours. The route length of 1300 km will also include Sacramento and San Diego.
6. The international space Station, a $150 billion

Currently, the international space station remains the most expensive scientific project in history. Since 1998, the creation and launch of the ISS spent about $150 billion. But the program of space station does not stop its development. So, by 2020 the ISS will have two new modules, therefore, the cost of the space program will increase.
7. The city of NEOM, $500 billion

NEOM is the smart tourist city in Saudi Arabia. The first phase of construction of the city is planned to be completed by 2025. It is assumed that the city will become a new world center for all kinds of innovative projects. City construction was financed by investment Fund of Saudi Arabia in the amount of $500 billion, making it the most expensive project to date.
